Absolutely loved this restaurant! In fact we had dinner last night and lunch today. We were not staying at the resort. Also there were several people that fly their private planes there for a meal then go home....it's that good! Very nice place with linen tablecloths and napkins. The waitresses were very friendly. I also really appreciated the chef/manager coming to our table to check on how our experience was. Also today spoke to a chef who was very informative about the desserts. You can tell the staff are committed to giving a great experience. The food was amazing! I left so stuffed both meals. The view of the river is also very beautiful!
Restaurant sits along the river with nice views. Wonderful salad bar and food was good. Wait staff friendly. Otters usually come to feed after dusk, great additional treat! I did not give 4 or 5 stars because a female trainer/supervisor (?) reprimanded another female wait staff rudely and harshly in front of us and others in line to be siitted. The way it was done was unprofessional and harsh; we almost walked out. Thankfully we did not come in contact with Ms. Rudeness again.
The only annoying part was the process to get seated. And I mean it is a process. It seems that the hostess is having to put our info in twice. Once is hand written with my name and number in my party. That was just weird since there wasn't a line at all. So not a great welcome but once u get into the restaurant it was fantastic. I highly recommend Gaston's
Pretty views of the White River, an Aviary with exotic birds, fountains, ponds, antique collections of watches, pens, bikes, outboards, scooters, and a dog named Blu are all part of the ambiance of Gaston's. You do pay for it, but that's fair since you get a meal and a museum for no extra charge. The food is very good, but not unusual. Good service. A free dessert brownie Alamode on your birthday (yum!) rounded out our lunch. I usually meet interesting patrons here, with today being no exception. A nice place to socialize with vacationers.
Great place for family and lots of fun. Great to watch the planes landing on the short grass runway. Great food and really cool atmosphere. Great location to get up river or down for some fantastic trout fishing.
this place is Awesome! the staff are some of the nicest people you will ever meet and eager to help. fresh, clean towels every day and lodges are clean and well stocked, all we needed was food. the guys that work the dock at the boat rentals are extremely helpful and nice, gave us some helpful tips that lead to us catching lots of trout! I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to get away for a weekend of great fishing, you'll not be disappointed!! Thank You Gaston's for an awesome weekend!
At lunch expect to pay about $10-15 for a sandwich. If it's a brisk fall day when you visit, I recommend the hot beef with mashed potatoes.
